For more than 40 years, our Annual Symposium has provided sophisticated family law programming to experienced practitioners from the Bay Area and beyond. The Annual Symposium is designed to provide the highest quality continuing education for the experienced family law practitioner while simultaneously allowing for networking with colleagues in a congenial setting. After holding last year's Symposium virtually, we look forward to gathering in person at the beautiful Meritage Resort and Spa in the Napa wine country. The AAML NorCal Symposium Committee is working closely with the staff at the Meritage to ensure a safe and healthy event.*

The 2022 Symposium:  Monopolizing Family Law Issues in 2022 will focus on advanced, cutting-edge topics, such as crossover issues between family law with probate and criminal law, as well as timely presentations on intractable conflict relating to custody, private judging, the impact of social media on family law cases, and cryptocurrency. Additionally, issues relating to favorite topics such as business valuations, untangling joint assets, and high earner income will be addressed. The presenters are high-quality, experienced professionals, leaders, and experts from various family law fields and fields that intersect with family law.

Keynote: The keynote speaker is renowned lecturer and educator on Coercive Control, Evan Stark. Evan Stark is a sociologist, forensic social worker, widely published author, and an award-winning researcher with an international reputation for his innovative work on interpersonal violence's legal, policy, and health dimensions, including its effects on children.

Evening Events: We will hold our Friday Night Welcome Reception outside on the Village Lawn at the Vista Collina Resort (across the street from the Meritage). On Saturday evening, you will have the opportunity to "dine-around" with fellow attendees at one of Napa's local restaurants. Sign up here!
